LIBRARY GUIDLINE

1. The books are for your use. We are glad to welcome you to the library. However, we will not accept anybody misusing the books. (e.g. underlining, writing in the books, tearing the pages, etc.). Any abuse noticed will be referred to the last borrower of the books/journal.

2. Kindly deposit all your belongings (bags, books, and umbrellas, etc.) at the entrance. One is allowed to take in just a notebook. 3. All are requested to bring your college ID and show the library assistant, enter your name, class, place and time in register available, upon the library building.

4. Please note the Library timings 8.30 am to 4.30 pm (Monday through Friday-on working days only). The library on Saturdays will be closed at 2.00 pm.

5. The unbound issues of journals, periodicals and current issues are to be used/read in the library or near to Prabhati itself, and are not allowed to be borrowed.

6. The students are allowed to borrow only five books for fourteen days. Henceforth, a fine will be charged to those not returning the books by the due date. The fine will be Ten rupee per book per day. The fine will have to be paid by cash, otherwise the person will be barred from using the library and the library card will be impounded, until he/she clears it. If the fine is not cleared by the end of the year, a bill will be sent to the diocese / congregation and the amount will be realized.

7. Please do not underline or mark in any of the books, or journals or magazines belonging to the library.

8. Reference Books are not to be taken out of the Library premises.

9. While the staff members are allowed to keep the books for a longer time (one month), they are humbly requested not to retain the books longer than necessary. The honourable staff members are requested not to deprive others from using the books.

10. If any book is lost, the person will have to either replace the book with same edition or pay the price and the processing fees. If the book is old, the person will have to pay the price according to its current value.

11. All library books will have to be returned by 22nd April or as stipulated by the librarian. The staff members are also requested to return the books by final due date.

12. No one is allowed to enter stack room without the permission of the Librarian. As you place order we shall provide the books available by same day or next day.

13. Photocopying facility is made available for the students. Please approach Mr. Prabir Bhuniya. The charge for the photocopy will be two rupees and has to be paid instantly. No dues are to be retained. Some of the books may not be photocopiable due to its condition or the size.

14. All Newspapers in the reading rooms are the property of the institution. They are retrieved for the purpose of documentation. No one is allowed to take them away without the permission of the Librarian.

15. All will have BARCODE for the library use.


16. Library premises can be made use of for discussion, seminars. However prior information has to be given. It can also be utilized for serious study if someone desires.
